Build for William Cavendish, the 5th Duke of Devonshire, the crescent was intended to make the town of Buxton a rival to the town of Bath as a Georgian Spa Town. Buxton, situated in the Derbyshire Peak District, England, has been the home of this beautiful building since it's completion in 1789.
